ABOUT ANTHONY GARVIN  --  Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, the artist was exposed to the majestic Cascade and Olympic Mountains at an early age.  Backpacking and climbing brought him in contact with wilderness and the creatures that inhabit it.  After college and law school, Anthony moved to California, the state with the greatest number and diversity of wildlife.  First as a photographer and later as a painter, Anthony felt compelled to celebrate wildlife on film and in paintings.  During his career as an environmental attorney, the artist learned about the pressures facing all wildlife, particularly endangered species.  Although wildlife paintings cannot in themselves save species from extinction, the artist feels that creating images of wild creatures can help save them by increasing their exposure to the public.  As several noted naturalists have observed,  people will only work to save the creatures they love and can only learn to love the creatures they know.

All of the artist's paintings are based on photographs of wildlife and their habitat that he has taken.  Anthony particularly enjoys the time he spends tracking and photographing wildlife across North America.  The artist uses the finest acrylic paints and museum quality boards for his original work.  Prints of his paintings are also available.

Avenir Light is a clean and stylish font favored by designers. It's easy on the eyes and a great go to font for titles, paragraphs & more.

Having lived in the West nearly all of his life, Anthony has a deep appreciation of Western history and traditions.  He therefore recently decided to focus on Western themes in addition to painting wildlife.  His painting attempts to capture the action and excitement of rodeos, Native American Pow Wows and the beauty of Native American regalia as well as bowls and baskets of the pueblos of the Southwest.
